Katsumasa Niki is President & CEO of DEEPCORE. Through investment activities in the information industry, he is constantly working on the theme of increasing corporate value. As an investment manager at SoftBank Group Corp., he was in charge of investment projects at various stages both in Japan and overseas until 2016. In addition to large-scale M&A such as Vodafone K.K. and Sprint., he was involved in investing in overseas technology companies and start-ups such as Aldebaran Robotics, Grab, Coupang, among others, and served as a director at Renren, Supercell, Grab, GungHo Online Entertainment, Inc., Geniee, Inc. and others. He also served as an investment committee member at several domestic and overseas VCs and serves as a directorat Mistletoe Venture Partners at present, capitalizing on his own experience and providing startup support from various perspectives.
Kasumi AmemiyaKasumi Amemiya
Kasumi Amemiya is in charge of fund management and corporate planning at DEEPCORE. After experiencing sales and corporate planning at a telecommunications company, she obtained an MBA from UNC-Chapel Hill(Kenan-Flagler Business Schol). Afterwards, she joined the M&A team of SoftBank Corp.(currently SoftBank Group Corp), where she engaged in various M&A deals, venture investments, and JV establishments both in Japan and overseas for over 10 years. Then she moved to Silicon Valley to join the new business development team and spent 8 months there, and joined DEEPCORE in July 2017.
Takayuki MatsuiTakayuki Matsui
VP, Business Development
Takayuki Matsui is in charge of DEEPCORE’s Business Development, KERNEL facility and IT. He is constantly working on solving problems in corporate enterprises and organizations with various technologies”. In recent years, he focuses on the “AI / RPA” domain, actively joining various projects in the role of planning, design and implementation. He is a committee member of the Japan Deep Learning Association Committee for Promoting Industrial Utilization.
Kazuya TanakaKazuya Tanaka
Kazuya Tanaka is in charge of KERNEL’s operation management, as Director, KERNEL of DEEPCORE. After graduating from the Faculty of Science at Tokyo University of Science, and from the Graduate School of Engineering at The University of Tokyo (Master’s program), he engaged in commercial and investment banking activities in Citibank in Japan and overseas. At his doctoral course at graduate school and faucluty at the Univeristy of Tokyo, and researcher at other organizations, he studied natural langauge processing by using machine learning, industry collaboration, university reform, and medical, science and technology policy planning etc. He also founded and operated several communities such as TEDx and STeLA, and also served as a director of several co-working spaces such as Space Bambi, KOMAD, and Geidai garage. He has been with DEEPCORE since 2017.
Satoshi TazoeSatoshi Tazoe
Director, Business Incubation
Satoshi Tazoe is Director, Business Incubation of DEEPCORE.
After graduating from the Graduate School of Mathematical and Computing sciences, Tokyo Institute of Technology , he engaged in strategic consulting work at the Boston Consulting Group. After that, he took charge of management planning and IPO work at ZIGExN Co.,Ltd.. After experiencing consulting and investment in Singapore, he joined Yutaka Matsuo Lab as a research administrator in the laboratory. He is developing a Japanese ecosystem of companies and academia and studying how to implement deep learning at a social level. He has been with DEEPCORE since 2017.
Shinichi TsurunagaShinichi Tsurunaga
Technical Director at KERNEL
Shinichi Tsurunaga is in charge of infrastructure and platforms including GPU servers at DEEPCORE. After founding an ISP during university years, he joined Softbank Corp. as an engineer. He has a wide range of professinal experiences from engineering to infrastructure construction. Since 2017, he has also served as a visiting lecturer of Python and AI at Cyber University . Tatsuya NagataTatsuya Nagata
Director, Program Management
Tatsuya Nagata is Director, Program Management of DEEPCORE. He majored in Mathematics (number theory) at school of Mathematical Sciences, the University of Tokyo, and obtained an MBA from INSEAD. He worked for several international consulting firms and financial advisory firms, and, as a project manager, spearheaded a number of projects including business strategy planning, business process reengineering, and financial advisory of M&As. His professional experience ranges across diverse sectors: pharma, manufacturing, media, apparel, government offices, etc. He has been with DEEPCORE since 2017.
Junya NakajimaJunya Nakajima
Director, Business Relations
Junya Nakajima is Director, Business Relations of DEEPCORE. He majored in computer science at university and graduate school. He joined JAPAN TELECOM CO.,LTD.(currently SoftBank Corp.) and engaged in introducing IT systems for major credit card company, manufacturing companies and government agencies as an engineer in the corporate business domain. He was involving in building a remote pathological diagnosis system using the iPad. Since 2013, he had engaged in business planning such as work style reform project (business improvement and RPA) and quality management. He has been with DEEPCORE since April 2018.
Junko NishideJunko Nishide
Director, Business Creation
Junko Nishide is Director, Business Creation of DEEPCORE. She majored in law, political science and sociology. At a global IT company, she engaged in business analysis and operation system designing for companies in a wide range of industries. She joined SoftBank Corp. and had involved in a number of projects which improve operational efficiency at nationwide stores. With strong interests in creating a richer world with technologies, she joined DEEPCORE in April 2018.

Takako Kitade is Director, Talent Management of DEEPCORE. After graduating from university, she had worked for a transport equipment manufacturing company and a gaming startup. In 2012, she joined SoftBank Corp., and has been constantly working on HR. She is in charge of matters related to “talents” at DEEPCORE.
Makiko AriyamaMakiko Ariyama
Makiko Ariyama is in charge of communications including media relations at DEEPCORE. After working for a financial institution, she joined SoftBank Corp. (currently SoftBank Group Corp.) in 2004. She has mainly engaged in media relations including corporate communication, corporate services and group companies. She has been with DEEPCORE since January 2018.
Hiro WatanabeHiro Watanabe
Manager, Incubation & Investment
Hiro Watanabe has engaged in Incubation and fund management at DEEPCORE. He was born in 1992 in Kyoto and moved to Tokyo when he entered Keio University. He served as a representative for AIESEC JAPAN in 2015 during his university years. He has also engaged in investment and support for young start-ups, and founded and operated the ZERO Foundation that invests in middle school and high school students in fellowship style. He has been with DEEPCORE, while serving as CEO of Misubime.
Yuta MurakamiYuta Murakami
Manager, Business Partners
Yuta Murakami is in charge of HR, general affairs, accounting and supporting back-office operation in portfolio companies at DEEPCORE. In 2012, he joined HR team at SoftBank Corp. and engaged in recruiting new graduates including strategy planning and follow-up. Since 2015, he had involved in the grading and evaluation system in HR planning team. He has been with DEEPCORE since January 2018.

Yasuhiro Tamaoka is Manager, Incubation & Investmen. He majored in business administration (strategic theory, organization theory) at university. He participated in a business-academia cooperation program, and had experienced the business planning for listed companies. In 2015, he joined SoftBank Corp. and engaged in corporate sales, mainly in new business area such as AI. He has been with DEEPCORE since April, 2018.

Akane Nagata is EA & Office Manager of DEEPCORE. After serving as EA at SoftBank Corp, she joined DEEPCORE in 2017.
Takeshi MiuraTakeshi Miura
Takeshi Miura is Advisor of DEEPCORE. He majored in electronic information communication at Faculty of Engineering, The University of Tokyo. After joining Space Information Division of ITOCHU Corporation, he engaged in service planning and business management at International Digital Communication and Cable & Wireless IDC. He also served as director for AboveNet Japan of SoftBank Group and director of SoftBank IDC Corp. (currently IDC Frontier Inc.). Currently, while serving as director for Japan Business Systems, Inc., he has been with DEEPCORE as advisor.
Go NakazawaGo Nakazawa
Go Nakazawa is Advisor of DEEPCORE. He graduated from Faculty of Letters, The University of Tokyo in 2003. After working for NTT DATA, he enganged in strategic planning of SoftBank Group at CEO office of SoftBank Corp. (currently SoftBank Group Corp.) since 2012. Currently while serving as co-founder of UsideU, Inc., he has been with in DEEPCORE as advisor.
Yutaka MatsuoYutaka Matsuo
Yutaka Matsuo is an associate professor at Graduate School of Engineering, the University of Tokyo. He received his BS, MS, and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Tokyo in 1997, 1999, and 2002. After working at National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) and Stanford University, he joined the faculty of University of Tokyo in 2007. He served as Editor-in-chief at Japan Society for Artificial Intelligence (JSAI) from 2012 to 2014. He is now the chair of the ELSI committee in JSAI. He is also a visiting associate professor at National University of Singapore (NUS).
Taizo SonTaizo Son
Taizo is a serial entrepreneur with extensive experience in investing and incubating IT related venture companies in Asia. He is the Founder of Mistletoe Inc., as well as board member and advisor to various IT companies around the globe. He founded Gungho Online which is one of the most successful online gaming companies in Japan in 2002, which had its IPO in 2005. With a vision to create Silicon Valley-like venture eco-system in East Asia by year 2030, Taizo founded MOVIDA JAPAN in 2009. Then he founded Mistletoe, Inc. in 2013 in order to commence comprehensive entrepreneurs support and startup ecosystem development activities. He strongly believes the World could be transformed into better place by nurturing entrepreneurs which would lead the creation of next generation.
